The awards celebrate women who have contributed significantly to Grayson County through leadership, innovation, and dedication. They recognize these women's impact in various sectors, including business, education, healthcare, social services, and more.

AWARD WINNERS WILL BE SELECTED BY INDEPENDENT JUDGES OUTSIDE GRAYSON COUNTY.

NOMINATION AND APPLICATION GUIDELINES

NOMINATION PROCESS

Any individual, organization, or group can submit nominations.  Self-nominations are accepted.  ***Only one nomination is necessary for the nominee to be invited to complete an application.***

  1. Provide detailed information about the nominee.
    1. Full Name
    2. Contact Information
    3. Category ***only one category per nomination.  Nominees may be submitted to multiple categories, but each category must submitted individually.***
    4. Statement of Contribution
      1. A detailed statement (up to 1,000 words) outlining the nominee's contributions, achievements, and the impact of their work on the community.  Include specific examples and any measurable outcomes.

ALL NOMINATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4TH, 2024 5 PM CST.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Following the close of the nomination process on October 4th, 2024, nominees will be asked to complete a formal application.  

  1. Applications will be open from Friday, October 11th to Friday, October 25th, 2024.
  2. ALL NOMINEES MUST SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ANY AWARD FOR WHICH THEY ARE NOMINATED.
  3. Nominees must provide detailed information, including:
    1. Full name.
    2. Contact information (phone, email, address).
    3. Community involvement/Business affiliation as it pertains to the specific award.
    4. A brief biography

AWARD CATEGORIES

Arts and Culture Woman of Influence

Contributing to advancing arts and culture as creative artists or supporters of others in their field.

Business Enterprise Woman of Influence

Substantially developing a business and leading its strategy and direction as an owner or operator. Must have been in business for at least one year.

Community Woman of Influence

Showing leadership and helping others through community projects or campaigns in the not-for-profit sector may include health, local education, domestic violence, financial literacy, and cultural programs—active involvement in community-based initiatives or organizations positively impacting the local community.

Young Woman of Influence

Young achievers aged between 21-30 who are already acting as a leader among their peers.

Academic Woman of Influence

Demonstrates excellence in significant contributions to academic discourse—influencer on peers, students, and the broader scholarly community through teaching or mentoring.

GUEST SPEAKER

Michele Fowler, DO, FACOEP

Dr. Michele Fowler joined Texoma Medical Center as Chief Medical Officer in January of 2024. At that time, she assumed the role as a full-time administrator and medical officer.

Dr. Fowler graduated as a Doctor of Osteopathy from the Oklahoma State University of Osteopathic Medicine and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Tennessee. She did her residency training in Emergency Medicine at Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City, completing her final year as Chief Resident. Dr. Fowler has worked as a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician throughout Oklahoma and Texas and has served as both a Medical Director and a Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians.
